How to become One with God

Krsna is individual, we are individual, everyone is individual.
Merging means merging in that total agreement. That is liberation.
Total agreement without any disagreement. And that is the perfection:
to keep individuality and agree with God in total agreement. That is
perfection. And imperfection so long we are in rebelled condition that
is material because one who has a slightest desire of disagreement
with Krsna, he cannot live there.

Economics of Surrender

In our daily activities, we are looking for a return. Any energy that we expend, any money. A good businessman is measured by how well he gets a return on his investment. If he makes investments that get returns regularly, equal to or greater than his investment then he’s considered to be very expert. The greater the return, the greater he is considered to be. So in spiritual life, this happens automatically. It’s actually guaranteed by Krishna. And the reciprocation, because it’s guaranteed, it’s different. In the material world, we give, we surrender and we may get no return. We may get some, we may get a lot, we may get a little, we may get none. That’s the nature of the material world. So, surrender to God has a transcendental aspect. It’s a transcendental surrender and it’s different from surrender as we know it in the material world. It’s a guaranteed return. That’s the difference between surrender to God and surrender to one who is not God or not of God or not Godly.

In another verse Krishna says, “daiva hy esa guna-mayi, mama maya duratyaya, mam eva ye prapadyante, mayam etam taranti te.” Here Krishna is saying that “My external illusory energy is impossible to overcome.” It’s very durable and insurmountable is the translation that Prabhupada uses. To survive spiritually, that is to overcome birth, death, disease and old age, which is actually impossible to do – one has to be born, suffer and die of old age and disease. That actually can be overcome – all those things. That’s a distinct contribution of practicing sanatana dharma or Krishna consciousness. The inevitable things of life, like birth and death and the ultimate problems of life, which are those things can actually be overcome. And Krishna says explicitly that these can be overcome by the process of surrender. And there’s actually no other means to do it. In fact, He says by surrendering, one can easily overcome that which is insurmountable. So it becomes not only possible but it becomes easy. So, it’s a mystical process. And it’s a simple process. It’s very difficult – millions and billions are spent every year just trying to overcome disease. And the same is being spent to stop birth and stop death – trying medicines and other means for people to live indefinitely in this body. But it’s very complicated and very difficult and so far, it’s not actually happening very successfully but by surrendering to Krishna it’s possible to overcome all these things immediately. That’s Krishna’s assurance. That’s Krishna’s guarantee.

The Grandiosity of Being Krsna's Servant

Although I aspire to be humble, and I aspire to transcend the lower modes of nature, still when I attempt to conquer over the stringent laws of material nature I am baffled time and again. It is not possible to overcome them because they are energies of Krsna, the Supreme Personality of Godhead, and who can think to ever overcome Him? But simply by associating even a little bit with His dear devotees, all these 'miseries' of lust and pride and anger are melted away into sheer joy and ecstasy by hearing of their wonderful activities serving the mission and desire of the Lord. My only hope for perfection is to make my desire one with the Lords and to humbly serve His devotees with patience, faith and unswerving devotion and enthusiasm.

What more is there? Everything's Perfect. I love Krsna. He is always taking great care of me.

"If one tries to spread Krsna consciousness all over the world, he should be understood to be performing the best welfare activity. The Lord is automatically very pleased with him. If the Lord is pleased with him, what is left for him to achieve? If one has been recognized by the Lord, even if he does not ask the Lord for anything, the Lord, who is within everyone, supplies him whatever he wants." [Srimad Bhagavatam, purport 8.7.44]

The Personality of Godhead is perfect and complete, and because He is completely perfect, all emanations from Him, such as this phenomenal world, are perfectly equipped as complete wholes. Whatever is produced of the Complete Whole is also complete in itself. Because He is the Complete Whole, even though so many complete units emanate from him, He remains the complete balance.
[Sri Isopanisad, Invocation]

The complete whole, or the Supreme Absolute Truth, is the complete Personality of Godhead. Realization of impersonal Brahman or of Paramatma, the Supersoul, is incomplete realization of the Absolute Complete. The Supreme Personality of Godhead is sac-cid-ananda-vigraha, and impersonal Brahman realization is the realization of His sat feature, or His aspect of eternity, and Paramatma or Supersoul realization is the realization of His sat and cit features, His aspects of eternity and knowledge. Realization of the Personality of Godhead, however, is realization of all the transcendental features--sat, cit and ananda, bliss. When one realizes the Supreme Person, he realizes these aspects in complete form (vigraha). Thus the complete whole is not formless. If He were formless, or if He were any less than His creation in any way, He could not be complete. The complete whole must contain everything both within and beyond our experience, otherwise He cannot be complete.

The complete whole, the Personality of Godhead, has immense potencies, all of which are as complete as He is. Thus this phenomenal or material world is also complete in itself. The twenty-four elements of which this material universe is a temporary manifestation are arranged to produce everything necessary for the maintenance and subsistence of this universe. No other unit in the universe need make an extraneous effort to try to maintain the universe. The universe functions on its own time scale, which is fixed by the energy of the complete whole, and when that time schedule is complete, this temporary manifestation will be annihilated by the complete arrangement of the complete.

All facilities are given to the complete units (namely the living beings) to enable them to realize the complete whole. All forms of incompletion are experienced due to incomplete knowledge of the complete whole. The human form of life is a complete manifestation of the consciousness of the living being, and it is obtained after evolving through death. If the living entity does not realize his completeness within the complete whole in this human life, which is blessed with full consciousness, he loses the chance to realize his completeness and is again put into the evolutionary cycle by the law of material nature.

Because we do not know that there is complete arrangement in nature for our maintenance, we make efforts to utilize the resources of nature to create a so-called complete life of sense enjoyment. Because the living entity cannot enjoy the life of the senses without being dovetailed to the complete whole, the misleading life of sense enjoyment is considered illusion. The hand of a body is a complete unit only as long as it is attached to the complete body. When the hand is severed from the body, it may appear like a hand, but it actually has none of the potencies of a hand. Similarly, living beings are parts and parcels of the complete whole, and if they are severed from the complete whole, the illusory representation of completeness cannot fully satisfy them.

The completeness of human life can only be realized when one engages in the service of the complete whole. All services in this world--whether social, political, communal, international or even interplanetary--will remain incomplete until they are dovetailed with the complete whole. When everything is dovetailed with the complete whole, the attached parts and parcels also become complete in themselves.
